Drop by drop, based in Bangalore was started Twenty years ago to provide a complete solution for the sustainable use of water resources. In 2014 the trust established shall be named a’ DROP BY DROP TRUST’. Suchethana, the Director, who started this company, is a development journalist by profession and has extensive knowledge of sustainable use of water resources. He has received training on rainwater harvesting implementation techniques and is certified by the Karnataka state council for Science and Technology (KSCST).

WHY RAINWATER HARVESTING?

Demand for water in urban cities like Bangalore is growing rapidly. Availability of water resources is on the decline due to increasing population and demand for water. Groundwater resources are depleting at a faster rate and are getting polluted too. It makes ecological sense to tap and use the rainwater, which otherwise goes wasted as run-off.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To conserve or preserve the natural resources including living and nonliving resources and maintain the ecosystem.
To create awareness among local people about the environment, ecology, natural- -food chain, forest, flora, and fauna.
To create awareness, implement proactive measures, and work towards the prevention of global warming.
To conduct research, execute and implement methods and techniques to conserve/harvest vast rainwater, execute and encourage cleaning up programs, and solid waste/biomedical waste management, implement zero waste management concepts and evolve healthy environmental practices.
To promote agricultural development including environmental protection and social forestry and other projects of national concern.
To accept partners ship in development with other developmental agencies, state and central government, corporate, Financial Institutions, and other NGOs(Both India and Abroad) to achieve the objectives of the Trust.
